  • Dust Devils – A Girls Und Panzer Story

From the sands of the Mojave, Valarie Woodlin of Mojave Rose High School has been a passionate fan of the sport of tankery. For so long, she could only be a fan. No longer. Before the hot sun would set, she went from passionate fan to dedicated participant as her school revives its old tankery team. Follow her alongside her friends as they embark on the journey of a lifetime.

Barstow, California Friday October 19th, 2012 The winds of the desert echoed throughout the area. The moon had already sunk beneath the horizon, yet the sun had not yet awakened. Barstow was not a city one immediately thought of when thinking of California, yet it exemplified one of its most notable characteristics; the sweltering heat. Even in October, a ninety-degree day was not unusual in the slightest. Among the many homes coated in a fine layer of sand, one had a peculiarity. This modest home had a solitary window light, and within was a young teenage girl busily preparing for school. The oddity here was that Valarie Woodlin would still be fast asleep on any other day, only begrudgingly getting ready for class at the last possible moment. Today was not a typical day. For today was the final match of Japan’s national Tankery tournament. Ooarai Girl’s Academy and Kuromorimine Girl’s Academy were about to wage battle. It would be tense! It would be action-packed! Ooarai would be fighting for its very survival! And Valarie is the only person in town who knows about it and gives a damn. Foreign tankery matches rarely got much attention outside their home country, […] More

  • Veterans From the Days of the Republic Chapter 1: Veterans, a Star Wars: The Clone Wars + Star Wars Rebels Crossover fanfic

[ad_1] Disclaimer: I do not own Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, or any part of the Star Wars franchise. (I wish I did.) So… I looked for a story like this but couldn’t find anything. I decided to write my own, and here we are! It was supposed to be a simple mission. An easy one. Which meant that it turned out terribly, horribly wrong. Their intel was wrong. There wasn’t a fuel transfer, which would have been a grab-and-go. Instead, there was a group of stormtroopers. Rex had gone along for the ride, and that was how he ended up sitting on the cot in a tiny imperial cell, sulking in the corner. Yes, he was sulking. He didn’t care with it was unbefitting of a seasoned Clone Wars veteran like him. There was no one here to see him, so why did it matter? He didn’t have the barest hint of an escape plan—though he should if he was half the strategical master he’d heard Ahsoka had painted him as. The door slid open with a hiss and Rex’s head jerked up, but his heart froze. It was a stormtrooper. But not just […] More

  • Choose Life, a lord of the rings fanfic

[ad_1] Choose Life These characters belong to Tolkien and his heirs. I make no money from writing this story. Caught between life and death, Faramir faces a decision. I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live – The Bible Deuteronomy 30:19 A/n. Some lines are taken directly from Tolkien. Faramir had ridden out to battle more times than he cared to count. Today, though, was different. He was certain he would not return. No man had wanted this mission, so hopeless did it seem. Only his father’s piercing gaze and direct challenge to his courage had compelled him to volunteer. There was no other choice. His father expected him to atone for not bringing him the Halflings and the thing that they carried. He preferred to think of it as simply a thing. He had spoken truly when he had told the Halflings that he would leave it on the highway if he found it, but that did not mean he could not feel the Ring’s lure. It seemed to whisper to him that […] More

  • Without You, a m*a*s*h fanfic

[ad_1] AN – Hey guys! This fic arose from a prompt given to me by agapimou34. It’s based on the episode The Yalu Brick Road (s8e10) and is BJ/Hawkeye centric. This is not a pairing fic but explores the platonic, brotherly love the two characters have for each other. I hope you enjoy it! As usual, reviews would be very much appreciated, they are my writing fuel. Throughout the story, if you see dialogue written like this: [example], it marks what’s being said in Korean by the North Korean soldiers. I felt that some Korean dialogue was needed to explain the progression of events, but I wanted to distinguish it from what the main characters say and can understand. I hope this makes sense. Obviously, I don’t own M*A*S*H, its characters or its plotlines. I don’t even really own the basis of this story. I’m just happy to write. XXXXX This day certainly wasn’t going well. On what was supposed to be a simple supply run, they had already gotten lost, crashed the Jeep, accidentally captured a North Korean soldier and were now even more lost as they struggled to find their way back to camp. Continually blinded by the […] More

  • The Long Road Home, a m*a*s*h fanfic

[ad_1] The Jeep hurtled down the road at an alarming rate. Hawkeye shouted at BJ to slow down, but his friend ignored his requests and kept on driving at the same petrifying pace. Suddenly, they rounded a corner and saw a pile of metal debris blocking the track ahead. “Look out!” screamed Hawkeye. BJ swerved dramatically, but hit a large bump on the side of the road. The two surgeons yelled in terror as they felt the Jeep’s right-hand wheels coming off the ground, and before they could process what had happened, they found the vehicle had capsized. BJ struggled to sit up in the dust. He had been thrown violently from the Jeep, and was now sprawled out in the middle of the road. His head was spinning, but once it had cleared slightly, he remembered his colleague and spun around to look for him. What he saw made his eyes go wide in shock. Hawkeye was lying on the road with his head lolling back against the ground. His left leg was caught underneath the overturned Jeep, and blood was streaming down his face from a large gash in his forehead. BJ rushed over to his friend and […] More

  • The Rod and The Crown Chapter 1, a lord of the rings fanfic

[ad_1] The Rod and the Crown Disclaimer: The characters are the property of the Tolkien Estate. No profit has been, nor will be made from this story. Rating K+ Thorongil beholds some of Gondor’s great heirlooms for the first time. With thanks to Raksha and Deandra. Thorongil’s footsteps echoed loudly as he walked slowly towards the dais in the vast hall. In all his travels, he had never seen the like. The Golden Hall in Edoras seemed small and cosy beside it, as did the Hall of Fire at Rivendell. No hangings or tapestries adorned the walls instead great statues were set between the pillars of carved black marble that supported the roof of this vast place. The statues all wore crowns and with a thrill, Thorongil recognised them as his kinsfolk. He glanced upwards; the vaulted roof was inlaid with gold, and decorated with brightly coloured designs, which were brightly illuminated by the sunlight streaming through great windows. His attention was drawn towards the great throne at the far end of the hall. Many steps led up to the great seat, above which was a canopy in the shape of the winged crown. He recalled seeing pictures of in […] More

Rating: PG Warnings: none Beta: none The sun burned down mercilessly upon the two Rangers who trudged wearily along the dusty road. Halbarad paused to take a swig from his water bottle. “It is almost empty,” he said with a deep sigh. “So too is mine,” said Aragorn. “We had better go in search of fresh supplies. It means we will be late returning to camp, but no matter. We need water in this heat.” “A detour will be more than worthwhile if we can get out of the sun,” said Halbarad. “I cannot recall it so hot in June before. I hope this is not some devilish new trick of the Enemy!” “I think not,” said Aragorn. “Any extremes of weather that we experience, the Elves have encountered countless times before and worse! In any case, Orcs flee from the sun while some decent folk actually enjoy heat waves, though why, I have no idea! Only blizzards […] More

The torrent was overhung with dark boxwoods and holly, which served only to highlight the water’s clear brilliance. “Not if you value your title as Prince of Ithilien!” Aragorn replied. He laughed. “This is the one place that your grandfather never suggested that I visit.” “During the dark days of our struggle against Sauron, no stranger was permitted to come this way with eyes unbound,” said Faramir. “We […] More

  • Bread of Life, a lord of the rings fanfic

[ad_1] Day Eighteen: Wilderland Today’s Challenge: There is no beautifier of complexion, or form, or behavior, like the wish to scatter joy and not pain around us. ‘Tis good to give a stranger a meal, or a night’s lodging. ‘Tis better to be hospitable to his good meaning and thought, and give courage to a companion. We must be as courteous to a man as we are to a picture, which we are willing to give the advantage of a good light. – Ralph Waldo Emerson The act of kindness or hospitability usually comes from a generous heart. [ad_1] Title: A Night at the Silver Crown Author(s): Linda Hoyland Rating: PG Fandom: LOTR/Harry Potter/ST TNG Character(s): Aragorn, Faramir, Guinan, Hermione, Minerva McGonagall Summary: Aragorn and Faramir encounter a mysterious bartender, an inquisitive girl, and a remarkable cat at their favourite tavern. Warnings: None Author’s Notes: I have used artistic licence with the powers of floo powder and time turners. With grateful thanks to Raksha and Deandra. Disclaimer With apologies to Tolkien, J.K Rowling and Paramount Pictures who own these characters, There were few ways to spend an evening that Aragorn and Faramir enjoyed more than a quiet pint at “The Silver Crown,” a convivial tavern in the sixth circle of the city. Dressed in their old Ranger garb, they could sip the innkeeper’s excellent ale, unrecognised by their fellow drinkers, and watch the world go by from their table in the corner. A cosy fire burned in the hearth, which tonight was graced by the presence of a large tabby cat on the hearthrug. Faramir reached out his hand to stroke the handsome feline, but it hissed at him; then started to groom its immaculate white whiskers. When no one came to take their order after several minutes […] More

With grateful thanks to Raksha, From Yulaf son of Izraban, Under-secretary to the Master of the Household of the Khan of Eastern Harad, Favored by the Giver of Light and Darkness, to Resoud son of Tahor, Secretary to the Vizier of the Treasury, Hail and Greeting from the North, Minas Tirith in the Land of Stone. You asked me, friend, what I think of Aragorn son of Arathorn, King of Gondor and Arnor, wielder of the Sword Reforged, the Elfstone, Elessar of the line of Valandil, Isildur’s son, Elendil’s son of Númenor. A strange man indeed is this King of Gondor. He will usually spend the morning sternly dispensing justice or attending Council, as indeed a King should, but then he partakes of a simple luncheon with his lady wife. Oddly enough, she appears to be his only consort. There is no rumour of him having other wives, or even a concubine. In the afternoon, he acts more oddly than ever. He is often seen at the Houses of […] More
